Alumni Perks

Affinity Alumni Magazine: Affinity magazine keeps alumni and friends up-to-date with main campus and nationwide news, alumni events and engaging profiles on faculty, staff and alumni who exemplify Cougar Pride. Alumni are encouraged to submit notices for inclusion in the Class Notes section. Read the digital issue.

Alumni Lapel Pin: Designed in 2014, this navy and silver pin features the beautiful Rogers Gate. All CC alumni receive a commemorative lapel pin during Columbia College commencement ceremonies. If you did not walk in a graduation ceremony, you may request a free alumni lapel pin.

Alumni Merchandise: Alumni are encouraged to show their Cougar Pride with alumni clothing, accessories and gifts. All purchases support the CCAA. Visit the online Alumni Store or contact the Alumni Relations office at (800) 231-2391, ext. ALUM, or for assistance.

Alumni Window Cling: Show your CC Pride! Request a free alumni window cling.

Columbia College Bookstore: Alumni receive a 10 percent discount on regular priced items at the Columbia College Bookstore (in-store only). Contact the bookstore at (800) 231-2391, ext. 7341 for additional information.

Columbia College License Plate: Whether you're a student, alumni or friend a unique way to show your pride and support for Columbia College is through a personalized license plate for your vehicle (Missouri residents only). The license plates, renewable annually, are available through Columbia College and the Missouri Department of Revenue.

To obtain your personalized plates with the college logo:
1. Contribute a minimum of $25 (for a one-year plate) or $50 (for two years) to Columbia College. Make a contribution online.
2. Request an "Emblem Use Authorization Statement" from the college with your contribution.
3. Present the "Emblem Use Authorization Statement" to the Department of Revenue at the time of registration.

Cougar Sports: Alumni are eligible to purchase a special Alumni Pass that will provide alumni and a guest entry to all Cougar home games as well as use of the fitness center. Contact Drew Grzella, Associate Director of Athletics, at (800) 231-2391, ext. 7419 or for additional information.

Get Involved

Affinity Councils: Connect with alumni in your area. Affinity Council members are charged with promoting the CCAA in their regions through networking and hosting local events. Check out the Affinity Council program.

Board of Directors and Committees: All alumni are eligible to be elected to the Board of Directors or to be appointed to one of the CCAA’s committees. Currently the CCAA has the following committees: Relationships, Traditions, Visibility, Pride and Alumni Awards. CCAA Alumni Awards: Alumni who have provided service to Columbia College, their community or have been outstanding in their professional field may be honored through the CCAA recognition program. Make a Donation: As alumni, your annual donation supports the future and success of your alma mater. Explore the many ways to give back.

Refer a Student: Fill out this online form to refer a student to Columbia College. The Admissions Office will contact them with information on how they can start their CC journey.

Reunions and Events: Throughout the year, reunions and special alumni events are held at the main campus and nationwide. Events such as Family Day & Homecoming, the annual Alumni Holiday Party and Kansas City Alumnae Luncheon are open to all alumni. Volunteer Opportunities: The CCAA promotes the ongoing connection of alumni with the college by providing opportunities for alumni to provide their time and expertise. CC Resources

Campus Facilities: Campus facilities are available to alumni for weddings and other events. There is a fee to use certain facilities. Contact the Administrative Services office at (800) 231-2391, ext. 7300, for additional information.

Career Services: Career counseling, career networking and resume assistance are available to alumni free of charge. Contact the Grossnickle Career Services Center at (800) 231-2391, ext. 7425, or for additional information.

CCAA Lifelong Learning Grant: Awarded to students who have completed the highest Columbia College undergraduate degree available at the time of graduation. For graduates of Christian Female College, this would be the associate degree and for graduates of Columbia College it is the bachelor's degree. Eligible students may enroll in one course, free of charge, if five years have elapsed since receiving their degree, they owe no fees, and they are not in default on federal loans. Students may enroll for credit or as auditors in courses being offered during the regularly scheduled semesters or sessions, provided space is available and course pre-requisites are met. Students are required to pay lab fees and for textbooks associated with the courses. Students are permitted to enroll in one free course in each subsequent five-year period but may not accumulate free courses. The CCAA Lifelong Learning Grant cannot be used for graduate-level courses or any online courses. For more information, contact the Enrollment Service Center at or (800) 231-2391 ext. 7252.

Library Privileges: Courtesy cards are available to alumni which will allow for the checking out of Columbia College-owned physical books.  Alumni may also access the library's electronic resources during on-campus visits.  Note, however, that due to licensing restrictions, alumni are unable to access the library's electronic resources from off-campus.  Contact the Stafford Library at (800) 231-2391, ext. 7381 or for additional information.

Scholarships: Children and grandchildren of alumni are eligible to apply for a $1,000 Alumni Legacy Scholarship. Contact the Financial Aid office at (800) 231-2391, ext. 7390 or for additional information.
